Ian Rice

Ian studied Financial Economics and business at the University of Oregon and Portland State University. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner and holds the additional designations of Accredited Estate Planner®, Business Succession Planner, Chartered Financial Consultant®, Chartered Life Underwriter, Certified Family Business Specialist and Retirement Income Certified Professional®.

Ian founded Rice Financial group in 2009 with the focus of providing clients more than just product or company driven financial advice. His expertise lies in his ability to get to know and understand people and help them build flexible strategies for our ever-changing world and lives.

Ian lives in Sherwood, Oregon with his wife Jaime, two daughters Zoey and Katie, and son JJ. Away from the firm you will most likely find him taxiing kids to sporting events and birthday parties.

Shane Allen

Shane's journey in the financial industry began over 12 years ago with a passion for helping others achieve financial security and independence. Over the years, he has honed his expertise in various areas such as investment management, retirement planning, estate planning, and risk management. He understands that each family has unique circumstances and goals, which is why the team at Rice Financial Group takes a personalized approach to every client relationship.

One of the most rewarding aspects of Shane's profession is seeing the tangible impact through their guidance in the lives of their clients. Whether it's helping a young couple save for their first home, guiding parents through college funding strategies, or assisting retirees in maximizing their retirement income, he finds fulfillment in watching families achieve their dreams and aspirations.

In addition to his fulfilling career in financial planning, Shane is proud to call the city of Portland home. He and his wife, Michelle, live west of downtown Portland along with their two cherished feline companions, Coco and Marge. Shane is a proud Penn State alumni who enjoys lacing up the skates and playing ice hockey, teeing it up on the golf course when the weather's nice, and trying to keep up with his wife in the gym.

Amber Williams

Marketing & Client Relations Manager

Amber brings 18 years of customer service experience to the team and almost ten years of experience in the world of financial services. Amber oversees our efforts with regards to new client attraction and making sure we’re taking excellent care of our existing clients.

Amber spends her free time with her husband Matt or shuttling kids from basketball, lacrosse, tennis, or football. Matt and Amber have three boys Oscar, Liam and Archie.

Kasey Closs

Kasey is a third-generation financial advisor, following in the footsteps of his father, Rob Closs, and his grandfather, Howard Somers, from whom he learned early the importance of having respect and compassion for others and putting their needs first in both personal and business relationships. Kasey strives to provide sound financial advice and strategies, personal to each client’s desired wealth building and retirement goals, whether you are an experienced investor or just beginning to save for your future. Kasey also enjoys providing these services to clients’ children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, believing that it is never too early to learn to become a saver and a savvy investor.

Kasey is a Lake Oswego, OR native and when he is not working, he enjoys time shared with his wife, Emily, and their dogs, Buster and Remington. Sports, especially football, have been a lifelong passion of his. Kasey played football at Portland State University and then earned the opportunity to play in the NFL with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2015. He is also an avid golfer and plays basketball on Portland’s Multnomah Athletic Club team. You might run into him at almost any sporting event. Outside of sports, he is a true family man. Priceless moments made together with family and friends are what drive him to be the man he is today. It translates into his business ethics and the way he interacts with his clients.

Ginger Fargas

Investments Operations Manager

Ginger specializes in investment operations and services with 13 years in the financial services industry. She brings broad experience in designing, creating, and facilitating training curriculum for financial advisors and their teams across various aspects of the business, from concept to client service. With a natural service mindset and attention to detail, Ginger helps ensure our clients investment business is established, maintained, and reported in an accurate and time sensitive mode.

Outside of work, Ginger enjoys road trips with her husband Victor and their three children, Eden, Veronica, and Gideon. She is active with her congregation and direct outreach to individuals experiencing homelessness. Living in Arizona you can typically find Ginger and her family exploring the outdoors in the sunshine.

Erica Knutson

Office Manager

Erica brings 18 years of customer service to the Rice Financial Group Team. Erica oversees & will coordinate the process of on-boarding clients and taking care of service requests. Her experience drives her commitment to understanding a client’s needs and exceeding expectations.

Erica loves spending her free time with her husband Duncan, working in the garden, baking & quilting.
